Highlassies finish in 10th place at Islander Classic
The McLennan Highlassies shot 322-334-336 – 992 to finish in 10th place at the Islander Classic at the par-72, 6,092-yard Corpus Christi Country Club. McLennan was the only two-year program in the field.
St. Mary's finished in first place with 302-301-310 – 913 followed by Sam Houston in second with 303-308-306 – 917 and host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in third with 312-294-317 – 923.
Sophomore Alejandra Rodriguez shot 78-80-82 – 240 to lead the Highlassies and finish tied for 28th place. Hannah Alberto of Sam Houston claimed the individual title with 73-72-71 – 216.
Other McLennan scores: sophomore Joely Henderson, tied for 48th, 79-84-85 – 248; sophomore Tyler Morrison, 52nd, 80-87-88 – 255; sophomore Makenna Davidson, tied for 53rd, 85-83-89 – 257; and freshman Briana Venegas, 58th, 86-90-81 – 257.
