Highlassies earn conference honors
Highlassie guard Chelsea Wooten was selected as the women's Newcomer of the Year. The sophomore from McKinney, Texas, and a transfer from College of Charleston, averaged 12.6 points (third on team) in conference play with 2.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists (second on the team) per game. She was named an all-conference selection along with Saneea Bevley and Miannah Little. Bevley, a freshman guard from Kansas City, Missouri, led the Highlassies in conference play with a 14.9 points along with 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Little, a sophomore guard from Waco, was second on the team with 14.1 points along with 3.3 rebounds and a team-leading 3.8 assists per game.
Aniya Williams and Bineta Diatta were honorable mention all-conference selections. Williams, a freshman forward from Marlin, averaged 6.1 points and 7.2 rebounds (second on team) in conference play. Diatta, a sophomore guard/forward from Senegal, averaged 9.4 points and led the team with 7.4 rebounds per game in conference play.
