McLennan Softball run rules Butler
McLennan Softball dominated the Butler Grizzlies this afternoon for an 8-0 run-rule win on day two of the Battle on the Bosque.
The first two McLennan runs came in the bottom of the first. Taylor Meier and Kyle Heine drew back-to-back walks. Erin Plunkett followed with a single to score Meier. Rose Gonzales then singled to score Heine.
McLennan added five runs in the third. Heine singled and Plunkett walked. Riley Rutherford followed with a double to score Heine, and Plunkett was out at the plate on fielder's choice by Sydney Kirby. Gonzales walked, loading the bases. Chesnee Faile singled to score Rutherford. Celeste Aguilar then double to score Kirby, Gonzales and Faile.
The final McLennan run came in the bottom of the fifth. Rutherford walked and was replaced by pinch runner Emma Bradley-Tse. Kirby reached on an error. Gonzales and Brinly Maples both walked, bringing Bradley-Tse in to score and end the game.
