Highlanders fall at Grayson

The McLennan Highlanders fell to the Grayson Vikings 92-78 this afternoon in Sherman.
 
The first half was a series of runs. McLennan began the game on a 7-0 run with a pair of buckets from Daylon Dickerson followed by a 3-pointer from Landon Anderson. Grayson responded with a 12-0 run over the next three minutes to take the 12-7 lead. The Vikings continued to rally and took the first double-digit lead at 19-9 with 12:18 to play in the first. Grayson continued to lead by 10, 21-11, with 11:20 to go. A 7-0 Highlander run, including five points from Nick Shogbonyo, pulled McLennan within three, 21-18. But once again, Grayson rallied using a 10-1 run to push the lead to 12, 31-19. The Vikings led by as many -as 15 and held the 47-34 advantage at the break.
 
McLennan came out of the locker room with back-to-back 3-pointers from Antwone Gonzales and Jaden Juarez. The Highlanders stuck with the Vikings, cutting the lead to six multiple times in the half. Grayson led by six, 65-59 with 8:17 to play in the game and continued to pull away down the stretch to the win.
 
Daylon Dickerson had 17 points. Nick Shogbonyo and Landon Anderson scored 16 and 15, respectively. Jaden Juarez and Antwone Gonzales scored 10 points each.
