Highlanders roll over Strength 'N Motion
The McLennan Highlanders rolled to a 111-55 victory over Strength 'N Motion tonight in the season opener at The Highlands.
It was all Highlanders from the opening tip. An Evan Chatman bucket and one less than 20 seconds into the game put McLennan on the board, 3-0. The Highlanders led by two 7-5 with 16:13 to play in the first half and used a 7-0 run over the next two minutes to begin pulling away. They took the first double-double digit lead at 16-6 on a Jude Lambert floater in the lane with just under 13 minutes remaining in the half. McLennan outscored Strength 'N Motion 14-2 in the next three minutes to go up 30-8 midway through the half and pushed the lead to 52-27 at the break. The second half was much the same as the Highlanders cruised to the lopsided victory.
Six Highlanders scored in double figures. Mason Lockhart and Nick Shogbonyo led the way with 16 points each, and Antwone Gonzales chipped in 13. Landon Anderson and Daylon Dickerson scored 12 points each, and Jude Lambert added 11.
