McLennan Highlanders crush Eastfield
The McLennan romped to a 107-64 victory over the Eastfield Harvesters tonight at The Highlands.
It was a fast-paced back-and-forth game from the opening tip. McLennan opened with a slam dunk by Omarion Smith followed by a bucket and ensuing foul shot from Cedric Kelley to build an early five-point lead at 5-0. Dwayne Reliford put the Harvesters on the board with 17:20 to go in the first half. Back-to-back buckets from Kelley and Dayvaughn Froe extended the Highlander lead to seven, 9-2. Torian Harris came off the bench for Eastfield with a 5-0 run of his own to cut the lead to two, 9-7. It was all McLennan from that point. The Highlanders used a 17-2 run over the next four minutes to break the game open, taking the 26-9 lead midway through the half. McLennan continued to pull away, extending the lead to 28 at the break, 51-23.
The second half was much the same, allowing the Highlander reserves to get some quality playing time.
