Bio

Christian Reyes joined the Highlander coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2022, working with infielders and hitters. In his first year at McLennan, the Highlanders finished in second place in North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) with a 22-10 record and ended the season in the Region V Tournament with an overall record of 40-18. Seven Highlanders were named all-conference selections, seven earned CSC Academic All-District® honors and 18 were named to the NJCAA’s All-Academic Teams.

Reyes comes to McLennan from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He joined the coaching staff in 2019 following his four-year playing career for the Trojans. During his two years as a grad assistant, Reyes coached the infielders that led the Sun Belt Conference in double plays. He also assisted with hitting, bunting, and base running, as well as camps, scouting reports, field work, and operations. In May 2021, Reyes moved into the role of volunteer assistant coach. He continued his work with the fielders, leading them to a Top-50 ranking in NCAA double plays per game, and picked up the third base coaching duties. Reyes has also coached travel teams with the Texas Bulls and Sticks Baseball organizations.

As an infielder for the Trojans, Reyes was a four-year letter winner. He holds the UA-Little Rock record for most sacrifice bunts and ranks among the top five in career hits and top 10 in games played.

Reyes earned a bachelor’s degree in world languages with a minor in sociology from UA-Little Rock in May 2019 and a master’s degree of science with a focus in sports management from UA-Little Rock in May 2021.
