Highlanders fall to #15 Tyler
The McLennan Highlanders dropped a non-conference game to the #15 Tyler Apaches 11-8 this afternoon at Bosque River Ballpark.
McLennan scored one run in the first. Daniel Harden singled but was out at second on a fielder's choice by Mac Rose. Rose advanced on a wild pitch, and Aidan Kuni walked. Rose and Kuni both stole a base, and Rose scored on an error.
Tyler responded with seven runs in the top of the second to take the lead. Tanner Chelette singled and Rene Galvan walked. Tyler Ness also walked, loading the bases. Chelette scored on a wild pitch, and Zack Zavala walked to reload the bases. Troy Johnson also walked, scoring Galvan, and Dalton Wilson single. Johnson was out on offensive interference. Levi Risenhoover walked, scoring Ness, and Ryan Brown walked to score Zavala. Chelette then doubled to score Wilson, Risenhoover and Brown.
Four more Apache runs scored in the fourth. Wilson singled, Risenhoover was hit by the pitch and Brown walked to load the bases. Chelette walked, scoring aWilson, and Gabe Flores walked to score Risenhoover. Ness then doubled to score Brown and Chelette.
The Highlanders added three runs in the fifth. Landon Underhill and Brecken Menuet both walked. Harden followed with a three-run homer.
McLennan then added four runs in the seventh. Rose singled and Kuni walked. Kuni was out at second on a fielder's choice by Deiten Lachance. Brodey Williams came up with a pinch-hit single, scoring Rose, and Marcus Smith followed with a three-run homer.
