The McLennan Highlanders dropped both games of Sunday's doubleheader with the Iowa Western Reivers in Tyler.
Iowa Western took game one 6-2 with Stefan Stahl taking the loss on the mound for the Highlanders.
The Reivers scored two in the top of the second inning as Josh Wakefield singled and scored on Nate Voss' home run.
Iowa Western added a run in the third. AJ Singer singled but was caught stealing second. Eli Hoerner also singled, advanced to second on an error and moved to third on a ground out by Sorenson. Evan Saunders then singled to score Hoerner.
Another two Reiver runs scored in the fourth. Voss was hit by the pitch and advanced to second on an error. Reese Harmon then singled to score Voss. Harmon advanced to second on the throw, moved to third on a ground out by Kyle Hvidsten and scored on a passed ball.
Both McLennan runs came in the bottom of the fourth as Mac Rose singled and scored on a Gavyn Jones home run.
Iowa Western added another run in the sixth. Voss was hit by the pitch, advanced on a wild pitch and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Harmon. Voss then scored on a sacrifice fly by Hvidsten.
In the nightcap, the Reivers defeated the Highlanders 4-2 with Kade Bing taking the loss.
Iowa Western scored one in the bottom of the first. Brayden Smith singled and Singer walked. Smith advanced to third on a line out by Jaxon Sorenson and stole home.
McLennan tied the game with Aidan Kuni's home run in the top of the second.
The Reivers took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Brody Sexton singled and Smith was hit by the pitch, both scoring on a triple by Singer. Singer then scored on a ground out by Hoerner.
Rose's solo home run for the Highlanders in the top of the eighth rounded out the scoring.
