McLennan women slip in NJCAA poll

The McLennan women's basketball squad slipped two spots to #10 in this week's NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Rankings. McLennan has an overall record of 23-3 and 12-2 heading into the final week of conference play.

Northwest Florida State jumped three spots to #1 with a 25-2 record, followed by Three Rivers (Missouri) staying at #2 with a 27-2 record. New Mexico, a regional opponent of McLennan, moved up one spot to #3 with a 26-2 record. Chipola (Florida), the previous #1, is #4 this week with a 26-3 record. Wabash Valley (Illinois) is #5 at 27-2.

Other Texas schools ranked include: South Plains, up one spot to #8, 22-3; Trinity Valley, staying at #15, 23-4; Odessa, staying at #17, 19-7; and Grayson, up one spot to #23, 22-6. Collin is receiving votes.

McLennan hosts Temple at 5 p.m. Wednesday at The Highlands
