McLennan women jump into NJCAA Top 10
The undefeated McLennan women's basketball squad jumped into the Top 10 of the NJCAA Division I Rankings this week at #10. McLennan goes into the Thanksgiving break with an overall record of 7-0.
The top three schools remained the same this week: Hutchinson, #1, 8-0; Northwest Florida State, #2, 9-0; and New Mexico, #3, 10-0. Three Rivers (Missouri), 7-1,Southern Idaho, 5-1, and Dodge City (Kansas), 7-1, all moved up three spots this week to hold the fourth to sixth spots. Shelton State (Alabama) slipped one spot to #7 with a 7-1 record, while Wabash Valley (Illinois) fell four spots to #8 with a 7-1 record. Gulf Coast State (Florida) also slipped four spots to #9 at 9-1 on the season.
McLennan and New Mexico both compete in NJCAA Region V along with Odessa (up two to #12, 7-1), and South Plains (up two to #13, 7-1). Kilgore (down six to #18, 5-2) competes in NJCAA Region XIV along with Trinity Valley (up one to #18, 5-2). Blinn, also from Region XIV, is receiving votes. Collin, a conference foe for McLennan, fell out of the rankings this week.
McLennan returns to action Dec. 3, traveling to Brenham to face Blinn at 5:30 p.m.
