McLennan Highlassies holding steady at No. 16 in basketball poll
For the second consecutive week, the McLennan Highlassies are ranked No. 16 in the NJCAA Division I Basketball Rankings. The Highlassies have an overall record of 7-1 and received 90 points in the poll.
Trinity Valley (Texas) remains No. 1 with 250 points and an overall record of 9-0. Blinn (Texas) and Chipola (Florida) both moved up one spot to second and third with 216 and 207 points, respectively. Northwest Florida State fell two spots to No. 4 with 198 points, while Gulf Coat State (Florida) moved up a spot to No. 5 with 189 points.
McLennan competes in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference with Collin, up two spots to No. 15 (99 points), and Grayson, entering the poll at No. 25 (12 points). Other NJCAA Region V opponents ranked are: New Mexico, dropping seven spots this week to No. 12 (126 points), and Clarendon, up three spots to No. 21 (41 points).
The Highlassies return to action Saturday, traveling to Kilgore to face the Rangers at 2 p.m.
