Highlassies fall to Paris
Women come up short
The McLennan Highlassies fell to the Paris Lady Dragons 70-65 on Friday evening in Paris.
The game was tied at 13 points with 12:31 remaining in the first half. McLennan pulled away with a 14-0 run in the next three minutes. Paris rallied to cut the lead to six with 10 seconds to go, but Shanice Davis' 3-pointer at the buzzer gave the Highlassies the 39-30 lead at the break.
McLennan struggled in the second half. Paris took the one-point lead at 44-43 with 13:43 remaining in the game. The Lady Dragons extended the lead to nine with 8:41 to play, and the Highlassies were unable to recover.
Sophomore Ashley Bean led McLennan with nine points.
