Highlanders annihilate Lady Rangers
The McLennan Highlander annihilated the Ranger Lady Rangers on the road.
McLennan took game one 23-2 in five innings with Natalie Klenda picking up the win in the circle.
The Highlanders scored 13 runs in the first inning. Tehya Pitts singled and Trinity Allen walked. MJ Nicholson followed with a single to score Pitts. Lilli Piersons walked, and Ally Thompson singled Allen and Nicholson. Ellie Loveless walked, and Madison Garcia singled to score Piersons and Thompson. Pitts then doubled to score Loveless. Mickayla Tosch followed with a three-run homer. Allen followed with a solo home run, and Nicholson doubled. Aynsli Lawson followed with a two-run homer. Piersons then doubled and scored on a single by Thompson.
Marlie Strong led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run for the Rangers.
McLennan added three runs in the top of the second. Garcia was hit by the pitch and Pitts singled. Garcia scored on a double steal. Allen was hit by the pitch, and Pitts scored on a fly out by Nicholson. Lawson then doubled to score Allen.
Three more Highlander runs scored in the third. Thompson and Pitts both singled and scored on a double by Tosch. Allen reached on an error, and Tosch scored on a Nicholson single.
Ranger's final run came in the bottom of the third. Strong singled and advanced to third on a ground out by Rachet Houston. Arianna Meza then grounded out to score Strong.
McLennan scored two more in the fourth as Piersons walked and scored on an Alyssa Moreno home run.
The final two Highlander runs came with back-to-back home runs by Tosch and Allen in the top of the fifth.
Game two was a 30-0 shutout with Addyson Canfield getting the win in the circle.
The first two Highlander runs scored in the first. Pitts and Tosch both singled and stole a base. Pitts scored on a sacrifice fly by Nicholson, and Lawson singled to score Tosch.
Five Highlander runs scored in the second. Moreno walked and Pitts singled, both scoring on a Tosch home run. Allen then doubled and scored on Nicholson's home run.
McLennan tacked on nine runs in the third. Garcia hit a solo home run. Pitts singled and stole second. Tosch and Allen both walked, loading the bases. Nicholson doubled to score Pitts and Tosch, and Allen scored on a sacrifice fly by Lawson. Macie Jansky singled to score Nicholson, and Thompson was hit by the pitch. Moreno doubled to score Jansky. Thompson and Moreno both scored. Garcia singled and Delanie Roeder both walked. Tosch then singled to score Garcia.
Two Highlander runs scored in the fourth. Madison Levsey walked, advanced to third on an error and scored on a single by Thompson. Moreno walked and Klenda singled. Thompson then scored on a sac fly by Roeder.
McLennan scored 12 in the fifth to round out the scoring. Nicholson doubled and scored on a Levsey's triple. Jansky reached on an error, scoring Levsey. Thompson and Moreno both singled. All three runners scored on a triple by Klenda. Roeder then singled to score Klenda, and Tosch tripled to score Roeder. Allen and Nicholson followed with back-to-back homers. Levsey singled and scored on a triple by Jansky, and Thompson's sac fly scored Jansky.
