Highlanders fall to Odessa

The McLennan Highlanders fell to the Odessa Wranglers 13-2 on the final day of the Battle on the Bosque at Bosque River Ballpark. Landrie Harris took the loss in the circle.
 
Odessa scored five runs in the second inning. Neve Adams walked and advanced on a fly out by Diveli Cherry. Avery Terpsma reached on an error, and Reganied Franka also reached on an error, scoring Adams. Taryn Blazevich walked, and Mason Barclay doubled to score Terpsma and Franka. Makenzei Mahagan-Bernal singled to score Blazevich and Barclay.
 
The Wranglers added six more runs in the third. Adams and Cherry both walked and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Terpsma. Franka reached on an error, scoring Adams. Franka stole second and Cherry scored on a single by Blazevich. Blazevich stole second and Barclay singled to score Franka. A sacrifice fly by Mahagan-Bernal scored Blazevich, and Shelby Navarrete followed with a two-run homer.
 
McLennan's two runs came in the fourth. Trinity Allen reached on an error and stole second. Mickayla Tosch walked, and Madison Garcia singled to score Allen. Aynsli Lawson then singled to score Tosch.
 
Odessa rounded out the scoring with two runs in the top of the fifth. Mahagan-Bernal reached on an error, advanced on a ground out by Navarrete and scored on a double by Renske Tellekamp. Adams singled, and Tellekamp scored on a sacrifice fly by Cherry.
