McLennan Softball slips in games at No. 18 Bossier Parish
McLennan Softball had a rough day on the road in Louisiana, falling to the No. 18 Bossier Parish Cavaliers in both games of the doubleheader.
Bossier Parish took game one 9-1 in five innings with Cheyenne Floyd taking the loss in the circle.
The Cavaliers scored two runs in the bottom of the first. Tulilau Sosi was hit by the pitch and moved to second on a ground out by Dyllan Sanay. Haylee Ladner drew a walk, and Uchenna Jong Loy doubled to score Sosi and Ladner.
Bossier Parish added two runs in the second. Precious Aholelei was hit by the pitch and Samantha Eckert was safe on an error. Primrose Aholelei was also hit by the pitch, loading the bases. Sosi drew a walk, bringing Precious in to score. Eckert then scored on a fielder's choice by Sanay.
The Cavaliers doubled their lead with four runs in the third. Nicolette Blenker walked and moved to second on a ground out by Hailey Pence. Precious was hit by the pitch and Primrose walked to load the bases. Sosi followed with a grand slam.
Ka'Lyn Watson hit a solo home run for McLennan in the top of the fourth.
Bossier Parish secured the run rule in the bottom of the fifth. Eckert and Primrose both singled, and Sosi walked to load the bases. Sanay was then hit by the pitch, scoring Eckert.
The Cavaliers took game two, 4-2.
McLennan's first run came in the top of the third. Sidney Campion drew a lead-off walk and Watson singled. Lindsey Evans then singled to score Campion.
Bossier Parish took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Sanay singled and Ladner walked. Kennedy Cox replaced Ladner as the runner at first base. Both runner advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Jong Loy.
Two more Cavalier runs scored in the fifth. Primrose singled and moved to second on a ground out by Sosi. Sanay then singled and stole second. Primrose scored on a fly out by Ladner, and Sanay scored on a single by Jong Loy.
Bailey Krolczyk led off with a solo home run in the top of the sixth to pull McLennan within two, 4-2.
McLennan returns to action Friday, hosting Odessa for a noon doubleheader.
