Highlassies, Lady Wranglers split
The McLennan Highlassies and Cisco Lady Wranglers split the conference doubleheader at Bosque River Ballpark.
Cisco took game one 2-1 with Kayleigh Williams taking the loss in the circle.
Both of the Lady Wranglers' runs came in the top of the fourth. Amanda Ramage drew a walk and moved to second on a ground out by Celeste Silva. Mackenzie Anderson followed with a single. Ramage and Anderson both scored on a single by Kahlie Barrett.
The Highlassies' run came in the bottom of the sixth as Marisa Flores doubled and scored on a single by Theresa Gonzales.
McLennan bounced back to shut out Cisco 4-0 in the nightcap with Chanlynn Turner getting the win.
The Highlassies scored a run in the bottom of the first as Flores walked, moved to second on a passed ball, and scored on a double by Theresa Gonzales.
McLennan added a run in the third. Flores singled and moved to second on a passed ball. Theresa Gonzales drew a walk and Victoria Gonzales singled, loading the bases. Makayla Hernandez then walked, bringing Flores in to score.
The Highlassies increased the lead to 3-0 with a run in the fourth as Faith Aguilar singled, stole second and third, and scored on a fly out by Dariann Resendez.
McLennan's final run came in the sixth as Elizabeth Svienty singled, moved to second on a passed ball, advanced to third on a Cisco error, and scored on a single by Aguilar.
