Highlanders finish tied for second at Diamondback Dual Match
The McLennan Highlanders finished in a tie for second place today at the Diamondback Dual Match held at the Diamondback Golf Club in Abilene. The 18-hole event featured multiple singles matches between six nationally-ranked teams. Points were awarded for each nine holes and the total.
Midland finished in first place with 13 points, followed by McLennan and New Mexico in a tie for second with 11.5 points. Ranger was fourth with 8 points, followed by Odessa in fifth with 7.5 points and Western Texas in sixth with 2.5 points.
McLennan results: Brayden Marnell, 1 up loss to New Mexico (0.5 point); Mason Mikeska, 4&3 win over Odessa (3 points); Parker Scaling, 3&1 win over Western Texas (2.5 points), Trent Leffingwell, 4&3 loss to Midland; Caden Honea, 1 up win over Ranger (2.5 points) and Matt Lorentzen, 5&4 win over Odessa (3 points).
The Highlanders will compete in the NJCAA Southwest Championship April 15-16 at the Tanglewood Resort in Pottsboro, Texas.
