Highlanders finish in fifth place at Andrews
The McLennan Highlanders opened the fall 2018 season with a fifth-place finish at the Andrews Collegiate/Amateur Invitational held at the Andrews County Club in Andrews, Texas. The Highlanders shot 288-285 – 573 during the two-day event.
Western Texas finished in first place with 274-275 – 549, followed by Midland in second with 277-280 – 557. Wayland Baptist and Odessa finished in third and fourth with279-280 – 559 and 280-281 – 561, respectively.
Sophomore Parker Scaling (71-72) along with freshmen Caden Honea (72-71) and Mason Mikeska (73-70) all shot 143 to lead the Highlanders and finish tied for 15th place. Other McLennan scores: sophomore Colin Juban, tied for 24th, 73-72 – 145; sophomore Trent Leffingwell, tied for 28th, 72-74 – 146; and sophomore Matt Lorentzen, 36th, 79-73 – 152.
