The McLennan Highlanders rolled over the Temple Leopards 85-60 tonight in the final conference game at The Highlands this season.
Temple was in control early, holding the 11-5 lead over the Highlanders with 13:33 to go in the first half. McLennan responded with a 6-0 run, including four points from Frederick Rogers III to tie the game at 11 just a minute later. The teams exchanged the baskets and the lead for the next seven minutes. The game was tied at 27 with 4:22 to go before the half. The Highlanders went on a 7-0 run to lead 34-27 but the Lepoards trimmed the lead to four at the break, 34-30
The second half was all McLennan. The Highlanders led 48-41 with 15:23 to go in the game. McLennan broke the game open with an 11-0 run over the next four minutes and cruised the rest of the way.
Ari Gooch led the Highlander with 22 points. Evan Chatman and Frederick Rogers III scored 12 points each.
