Highlanders extinguish Blazers
The McLennan Highlanders were too much for North Lake as they extinguished the Blazers 102-58 tonight at The Highlands.
The Highlanders dominated early, opening on a 12-1 run highlighted by 3-pointers from Ari Gooch and Evan Chatman. McLennan put the game away early as they held the Blazers to just two field goals in the first 10 minutes of play, and the Highlanders led by 17, midway through the half, 24-7. The Highlanders were hot from behind the arch with four players combining to drain eight shots from long distance as McLennan rolled to a 55-26 halftime lead.
McLennan continued to pour on the points in the second half. Rontavious Blackshear showed his skill from 3-point range, hitting four in the half. The Highlanders cruised through the second half to another easy victory.
Rontavious Blackshear led the way with 24 points. Evan Chatman and Ari Gooch scored 17 and 15, respectively, and John McQueen added 14.
