Highlanders crush Strength N Motion
Strength N Motion was no match for McLennan as the Highlanders crushed the San Antonio prep school 97-60 at the Joe White Classic in Hillsboro.
McLennan opened on a 7-0 run with a free throw from Omarion Smith and back-to-back 3-pointers from Jaylen Thompson and CJ Hall. The Highlanders held Strength N Motion scoreless for the first three minutes of play and took the double-digit lead at 12-2 with16:11 to go in the first half. A Dayvaughn Froe 3-pointer pushed the McLennan lead to 13, 15-2, before Strength N Motion made a small run to trim the lead to eight, 15-7. McLennan took control from that point. Leading 23-11 with 12:42 to play in the half, the Highlanders broke the game wide open with a 17-0 run. McLennan continued to push down the stretch and led 52-29 at halftime.
The second half was much the same as the Highlanders cruised. Already leading 62-43, the Highlanders used an 18-0 run midway through the half to put the game well out of reach for Strength N Motion to make a comeback.
Khalif Allim led the way for McLennan with 18 points. Dayvaughn Froe and Jahmar Brown scored 14 and 10, respectively.
