Highlanders demolish Tornados
The McLennan Highlanders ended the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 120-63 demolishing victory over the Concordia University JV Tornados this evening at The Highlands.
Concordia, with only five players, kept the game fairly close until the midway point of the first half. McLennan broke the game open late in the half and held the 50-25 advantage at the break. It was all Highlanders in the second half as McLennan outscored the Tornados 70-38 in the half.
Akili Vining led the Highlanders with 19 points. Rodrique Massenat and Cameron Copeland added 16 and 15 points, respectively. Rayquan Brown scored 14 while Isaiah Wyatt and Tyrese Taylor scored 13 points each. Asare Otchere rounded out the Highlanders in double figures with 11.
McLennan will open conference play on the road at Ranger Jan.8 at 7 p.m.
