Highlanders come up short at Western Texas
In a game that came down to the final seconds, the McLennan Highlanders fell to the Western Texas Westerners 81-80 tonight in the final game of the Western Texas Classic.
It was a battle from the start with Western Texas holding the 39-33 lead at halftime. McLennan had a chance to stela the win at the buzzer but Claven Wilson's shot fell off the rim.
Lorenzo Anderson led the Highlanders with 28 points. Cameron Copeland scored 17 and Akili Vining added 15. Claven Wilson rounded out the Highlanders in double figures with 11.
The Highlander will host Blinn at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Highlands.
