Highlanders’ Adewunmi earns second Player of the Week honor

For the second time this season, McLennan basketball guard Mike Adewunmi has been named the conference Player of the Week.

The sophomore from Dallas received the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference honor for Dec. 23-29 after his stellar performance in the Highlanders' victory over Angelina Dec. 29. Adewunmi led McLennan with 32 points, scoring 23 in the first half including12 of the team's first 16 points.

This is the second consecutive honor for Adewunmi and the third consecutive nod for the Highlanders. Adewunmi received the honor Dec. 9-15 and fellow sophomore guard Xavier Armstead was honored Dec. 2-8.

McLennan begins conference play Jan. 9 hosting No. 6 Ranger at 7:30 p.m.
