Highlanders fall short against Western Texas
The McLennan Highlanders came up a little short in their rematch with Western Texas, falling to the Westerners 80-74 in Snyder.
McLennan built a three-point lead at the end of the first half, 38-35, but Western Texas outscored the Highlanders 45-36 in the second half to steal the win.
Javen Hedgeman led the Highlanders with 20 points including four 3-pointers. Mike Adewunmi and Xavier Armstead scored 17 and 14, receptively.
McLennan will host Cedar Valley for a men's and women's basketball doubleheader Tuesday afternoon in the final games before the Thanksgiving holiday. The Highlanders and Suns will tipoff at 3 p.m., followed by the Highlassies and Lady Suns at 5 p.m.
