Highlanders stomp Angelina
The McLennan Highlanders defeated the Angelina Roadrunners 89-57 in the first game following the long winter break.
McLennan opened the game on a 5-0 run, holding Angelina scoreless for the first three minutes of play. The Roadrunners took the 10-7 lead, their only lead of the game, with 15:15 remaining in the first half. The Highlanders responded with an 11-0 run over the next three minutes to take the 18-10 lead. McLennan extended the lead to double digits, 30-18, with 8:35 to play in the half and held the 42-25 advantage at the break.
Angelina cut the lead to 13 early in the second half, but the Highlanders continued to pull away as they cruised to the easy victory.
James Harrison led the Highlanders with 17 points and Alex Mills added 16. Jalen Jones and Ricardo Artis scored 14 points each. Aundre Jackson added 12.
