Highlanders squeeze by Cisco
The McLennan Highlanders defeated the Cisco Wranglers 2-0 to advance in the winner's bracket of the Region V Baseball Tournament at Bosque River Ballpark.
Alex Wallace picked up the win on the mound, allowing one hit while striking out 10 batters in 7.2 innings of work.
The Highlanders scored both runs in the second inning. Owen Smith was hit by the pitch to lead off the inning. Walker Freeman and Landon Underhill both walked, loading the bases. Brecken Menuet singled to score Smith, and Freeman was out at the plate on a fielder's choice by Daniel Harden. Underhill then scored on a sacrifice fly by Mac Rose.
Due to the potential for inclement weather Sunday, the tournament is postponed until Monday at 10 a.m. with the following schedule:

7 p.m. | Grayson/New Mexico winner vs. Midland/Cisco winner
