Highlanders walk off San Jacinto
The McLennan Highlanders picked up an 11-10 walk-off victory over the San Jacinto Ravens this afternoon at Bosque River Ballpark. Kyndall Cassidy picked up the win on the mound.
San Jacinto began the scoring with three runs in the top of the first inning. McCabe Moyer and Tre Broussard both singled and advanced on a ground out by Eduardo Castillo. Jake Bennett then doubled to score Moyer. Hogan Shelby followed with a single to score Broussard.
McLennan took the lead with five runs in the bottom of the first. Daniel Harden and Mac Rose both singled. Aidan Kuni followed with a three-run homer. Deiten Lachance singled and Brodey Williams walked. Sam Flores also singled, loading the bases. Brecken Menuet then singled to score Lachance and Williams.
The Ravens added a run in the second as Landon Hunt doubled and scored on a single by Moyer.
The Highlanders scored two in the bottom of the inning. Rose led off with a solo home run. Kuni was hit by the pitch and Lachance walked. Williams then singled to load the bases, and Flores singled to score Kuni.
Two more San Jacinto runs scored in the third. Castillo singled and Shelby walked. Keegan Knutson singled to score Castillo, and Shelby scored on a fly out by Miguel Morales.
Another McLennan run scored in the fifth. Landon Underhill singled and advanced on an error. Underhill then moved to third on a ground out by Menuet and scored on a wild pitch.
The Ravens took the lead with four runs in the sixth. Knutson singled but was picked off at first. Morales reached on an error and advanced on a wild pitch. Johnny Morales then singled to score Morales. Hunt walked and both runners advanced on an error. Moyer walked, loading the bases. Broussard then singled to score Hernandez and Hunt, and Moyer scored on a single by Castillo.
The Highlanders tied the game with two runs in the seventh. Underhill walked and Lucas Kelly singled. Xander McAfee replaced Kelly as the runner at first, and both runners advance on a ground out by Harden. Rose walked to load the bases. Kuni and Lachance also walked, scoring Underhill and McAfee.
McLennan sealed the win with a run in the bottom of the ninth. Harden singled, and Rose and Kuni both walked to load the bases. Harden then scored on a sacrifice by Lachance.
