The McLennan Highlanders clobbered the Navarro Bulldogs 19-1 this afternoon in Coriscana with Alex Wallace picking up the win on the mound.
McLennan took the early lead with three runs in the second inning. Owen Smith singled and stole second. Brecken Menuet walked, and Daniel Harden doubled to score Smith. Aidan Kuni then singled to score Menuet and Harden.
Four more Highlander runs score in the third. Deiten Lachance led off with a double and scored on a single by Sam Flores. Smith singled, and Landon Underhill reached on an error, loading the bases. Flores scored on an error, and Smith scored on a passed ball. Menuet singled, and Harden singled to score Underhill.
Navarro's only run came in the bottom of the fourth. McCann Libby singled and Hank Harp walked. Libby then scored on a Highlander error.
McLennan added four more runs in the sixth. Lachance drew w lead-off walk. Flores and Smith both singled, loading the bases. Lachance scored on a passed ball, and Xander McAfee doubled to score Flores and Smith. Menuet followed with a double to score McAfee.
The Highlanders exploded for eight runs in the top of the seventh to secure the run rule. Walker Freeman led off with a pinch-hit double, and Brodey Williams walked. Flores singled to score Freeman, and Williams scored on a ground out by Marcus Smith. Underhill then singled to score Flores, and McAfee followed with a two-run homer. Menuet singled and Harden was hit by the pitch. Both runners advance on a passed ball, and Menuet scored on a wild pitch. Kuni walked, and Williams doubled to score Harden and Kuni.
