Highlanders' Embry named Pitcher of the Week

McLennan Baseball's Jase Embry was named the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 3-9.

Embry, a right-handed sophomore from Axtell, threw a five-inning no-hitter against Alvin to lead the Highlanders to a 12-0 run-rule win.

The Highlanders face the Navarro Bulldogs in a three-game series beginning at 2 p.m. Friday in Corsicana, followed by a noon doubleheader Saturday at Bosque River Ballpark.
