Highlanders drop tough game to San Jac
The McLennan Highlanders dropped a tough game to the San Jacinto Gators Monday afternoon in Houston, falling 4-2 with Daniel Cole taking the loss on the mound.
San Jacinto scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning. Tyriece Silas bunted for a single and advanced around to third on a McLennan error. Nick Neville singled to score Silas. Neville then stole second and scored on a single by Matt Goodheart.
McLennan tied the game with two runs in the top of the seventh as Griffin Paxton doubled and scored on a pinch-hit home run by Grant Miller.
The Highlanders had the chance to take the lead in the top of the ninth but left the bases loaded.
The Gators stole the win with two runs in the bottom of the ninth as Andres Sosa walked and scored on Sergio Macias' home run.
