Highlanders fall to Indian Hills
Williams lead Highlanders at the plate
The McLennan Highlanders fell to the Indian Hills Falcons 4-2 this afternoon at Bosque River Ballpark. Conner Camacho took the loss on the mound for McLennan.
Indian Hills began the scoring with one run in the top of the first as Caleb Ratzman walked, stole second, moved to third on a fly out by Junior Santos and scored on a single by Dario Polanco.
McLennan tied the game with one run in the bottom of the third as Evan Williams tripled and scored on a single by Braxton Hollenshead.
The Falcons took the lead with one run in the top of the fourth as Mike Levar walked, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Jake Lewis.
The Highlanders tied the game with one run in the seventh as Andrew Rhodes tripled and scored on a ground out by Williams.
Indian Hills sealed the win with two runs in the eighth. Polanco singled, moved to second on an overthrow and advanced to third on a bunt by Joel Booker. Booker stole second. An overthrow brought Polanco in to score and advanced Booker to third. Booker then scored on a single by Jose Valdez.
McLennan will resume conference play on Thursday, hosting Temple for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
