The McLennan Highlanders and Panola Ponies split Friday's doubleheader at Bosque River Ballpark.
The Highlanders took game one 2-1 with Cole Ridgely getting the win on the mound.
Panola's only run came in the top of the fourth as Hunter Owens walked, stole second and third, and scored on a Highlander error.
McLennan sealed the win with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Matt Campbell singled. Max Hogan followed with a fielder's choice, but an error by the Panola shortstop put Campbell safe at second. Zach Gonzalez then singled to score Campbell and Hogan.
The Ponies defeated the Highlanders 5-3 in the nightcap with Enrique Oquendo taking the loss for McLennan. Gonzalez's double was the only extra-base hit for the Highlanders. Evan Williams and Campbell were both 2-4 at the plate. Campbell, Trevor Podsednik and Braxton Hollenshead all recorded RBIs.
