McLennan Basketball squads claim slew of conference honors
The McLennan women's and men's basketball squads closed out their seasons claiming a slew of North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference All-Conference awards.
For the Highlassies, sophomore Jade Bradley was named an all-conference selection. The sophomore guard from Dallas averaged 16.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2. 7 assists and 2.2 steals per game.
Seynbou Thiam, Mele Kailahi, Elizabeth Critton and Jaidyn Fontenette were all honorable mention selections. Thiam, a sophomore post from Dakar, Senegal, averaged 6.1 points, 7. 2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. Kailahi, a freshman guard from East Palo Alto, California, averaged 10.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Critton, a sophomore forward from Mesquite, averaged 6.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Fontenette, a freshman point guard from Sweeny, Texas, averaged 5.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
Sophomore guard Cameron Copeland was an all-conference selection for the Highlanders. The Atlanta, Georgia, native averaged 13.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Freshman forward Rayquan Brown and sophomore guard Lorenzo Anderson were second-team selections. Brown, from Jonesboro, Georgia, averaged 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Anderson, from Atlanta, Georgia, averaged 12.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Chris Pryor, Asare Otchere, Akili Vining, Claven Wilson and Rodrique Massenat were all honorable mention selections. Pryor, a freshman guard from DeSoto, averaged 9.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Otchere, a freshman forward from Toronto, Canada, averaged 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Vining, a sophomore guard from Fort Worth, averaged 12.5 points, 2.5 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. Wilson, a freshman forward from DeSoto, averaged 4.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Massenat, a freshman guard from Trenton, New Jersey, averaged 6.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
