No. 4 McLennan women's golf open spring season with 10th-place finish
The McLennan women's golf squad is ranked fourth in the first Golfstat NJCAA Women's Rankings of 2021, and are bringing home a 10th-place finish from the Islander Classic in Corpus Christi. The Highlassies shot 344-342-338 – 1,024 at the two-day event.
Sam Houston State finished in first place with 298-302-290 – 890, followed by host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in second with 306-301-293 – 900 and Houston Baptist in third with 312-309-296 – 917.
Libby Singleton shot 80-84-83 – 247 to lead McLennan and finish tied for 39th place.
Other McLennan scores: Ava Bruner, tied for 43rd, 87-81-83 – 251; Kaylan Summers, tied for 52nd, 89-88-86 – 263; Andrea Imai, 55th, 93-89-86; and Jordyn Linnstaedter, 56th, 88-95-88 – 271.

McLennan is the only Texas team mentioned in the Golfstat poll. Seminole State (Florida) is ranked No. 1, followed by Redlands (Oklahoma) and Eastern Florida State in third.
The Highlassies will compete at the UT-RGV Invitational March 8-9 in McAllen.
