Highlassies wallop Palo Alto
The McLennan Highlassies closed out their three-day stint at the Coastal Bend Classic with a walloping 103-26 victory over the Palo Alto Palominos.
It was all McLennan from the start as the Highlassies outscored the Palominos 33-5 in the first quarter and extended the lead to 53-16 at halftime. The dominance continued in the second half as McLennan held Palo Alto to four points in the third quarter and six points in the fourth en route to the victory.
Sophomore KeeKee Nowlin led the Highlassies with 13 points while freshmen Shequana Jackson and Elizabeth Critton scored 10 each.
McLennan will host Cedar Valley for a men's and women's basketball doubleheader Tuesday afternoon in the final games before the Thanksgiving holiday. The Highlanders and Suns will tipoff at 3 p.m., followed by the Highlassies and Lady Suns at 5 p.m.
