#1 Highlanders dominate Cisco
The #1 McLennan Highlanders dominated the Cisco Wranglers this afternoon in Cisco.
Katia Reyes picked up the win in the circle for game one as the Highlanders rolled to a 15-0 run-rule victory.
Taylor Meier put the Highlanders on the board with a solo home run to lead off the top of the first.
Four more runs scored in the fourth. Mickayla Tosch tripled and scored on a ground out by Madison Hornback. Ellie Loveless walked and Meier singled. Both runners stole a base and Loveless scored on an error. Madison Garcia then tripled to score Meier, and Trinity Allen tripled to score Garcia.
McLennan exploded for 10 runs in the top of the fifth. Kyla Heine singled, and Katia Reyes followed with a two-run homer. Chesnee Faile walked and scored on another Tosch triple. Loveless followed with a two-run homer. Maddie Moore walked, stole second and advance to third on an error. Allen reached and advanced to second on another error. Cady Bowyer also reached safely on an error. Faile then tripled to score Bowyer, and Faile scored on a wild pitch.
The dominance continued into the second game with Brinly Maples get the win in the 21-1 run-rule victory.
The Highlanders scored one in the first as Meier walked, stole second, advanced on a ground out by Garcia and scored on a sacrifice fly by Lilly Rocha.
Five more McLennan runs scored in the second. Reyes and Tosch both singled and advanced on a passed ball. Hornback then reached on an error, scoring both runners. Makenzi Jenkins and Aynsli Lawson both walked. Meier singled to score Hornback. Rocha was hit by the pitch, scoring Jenkins, and Lawson scored on a fielder's choice by Heine.
The Highlanders added nine runs in the third. Hornback singled and scored on Jenkins' triple. Lawson then doubled to score Jenkins. Meier singled and stole second. Garcia then singled to score Lawson and Meier. Garcia was caught stealing, and Rocha homered. Heine doubled, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Reyes. Loveless replaced Reyes as the runner, and advanced on a wild pitch. Moore then single to score Loveless. Ally Thompson then tripled to score Moore, and Jenkins singled to score Thompson.
Another five runs scored in the fourth. Sarah Johnson led off with a solo home run. Rocha was hit by the pitch and advanced on a wild pitch. Cady Bowyer and Loveless both walked, loading the bases. Moore reached on an error, scoring Rocha. Bowyer was out at the plate, and Thompson reached on an error to score Loveless and Moore. Jenkins then singled to score Thompson.
Cisco's only run came in the bottom of the fourth. Amelia Wimmer walked and Kassidy Bradshaw reached on an error. Kylee Watson singled, and Wimmer scored on another error.
McLennan rounded out the scoring with a run in the top of the fifth as Johnson tripled and scored on a single by Garcia.
