Highlanders finish in sixth place; Hamilton earns All-American honor
The McLennan Highlanders closed out the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship at The Rawls Course in Lubbock this afternoon with a four-round total of 1,174 (294-298-284-298) to finish in sixth place at the four-day event.
Hutchinson (Kansas) claimed the national title with 280-280-288-288 – 1,136, followed by Odessa (Texas) in second with 283-293-284-285 – 1,145 and Midland (Texas) in third with 283-294-289-289 – 1,155. Garden City (Kansas) and Western Texas finished tied for fourth with 292-297-283-301 – 1,173 and 288-290-295-300 – 1,173, respectively
Hayes Hamilton shot 71-77-70-74 – 284 to lead the Highlanders, finishing tied for 14th place and earning Honorable Mention All-American Honors.
