Highlanders finish tied for fourth at NJCAA Southwest Championship
The McLennan Highlanders shot 308-279-301 – 888 to finish tied for fourth at the NJCAA Southwest Championship at the par-72, 6,993-yard Tanglewood Resort in Pottsboro, Texas.
Midland finished in first with 302-289-287 – 878 followed by Ranger in second with 298-291-290 – 879 and New Mexico in third with 299-299-285 – 883.
Sophomore Matt Lorentzen shot 74-66-77 – 217 to lead the Highlanders and finish tied for sixth place.
Other McLennan scores: sophomore Trent Leffingwell, tied for 14th, 75-71-76 – 222; freshman Caden Honea, tied for 22nd, 80-71-76 – 227; sophomore Brayden Marnell, tied for 27th, 84-71-74 – 229; freshman medalist Will Fore, tied for 31st, 80-77-74 – 231; sophomore medalist Parker Scaling, 34th, 77-80-75 – 232; freshman Mason Mikeska, tied for 35th, 79-79-75 – 233.

Scores from this tournament will be combined with the NJCAA District II Championship April 29-30 to determine the four qualifying teams for the national tournament.
