McLennan golfers earn All-American honors
McLennan Community College golfers Matt Lorentzen and Alejandra Rodriguez were named NJCAA All-Americans following their outstanding performances at their respective national tournaments.
Lorentzen, a freshman from Hvidovre, Denmark, was named a first-team All-American after finishing tied for fifth place at the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship. He competed in all nine of the Highlanders' tournaments this year claiming eight top-10 finishes including a championship at the Dr Pepper Classic and a tie for second at the NJCAA National Preview.
Rodriguez, a sophomore from Brownsville, was named an honorable mention All-American for her 16th-place finish at the NJCAA Women's Golf National Championship. She competed in all 10 tournaments this year claiming five top-20 finishes including ties for eighth place at both the Susie Berning Maxwell and O-City Classics. She will continue her collegiate career at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith in the fall.
