Highlanders finish fifth at Andrews College/AM Invitational
The McLennan Highlanders opened the fall season with a fifth place finish at the Andrew College/AM Invitational hosted by Odessa College at the at the par-72, 6,358-yard Andrews Country Club in Andrews, Texas. The Highlanders shot 290-300 – 590 over the two-day event.
Host Odessa claimed the team championship with 267-278 – 545, followed by Midland in second with 272-278 – 550 and Western Texas in third with 284-286 – 570.
Sophomore Ryan Brown shot 69-78 – 147 to lead the Highlanders and finish tied for 23rd place.
Other McLennan scores: freshman Alex Isakson, 26th, 73-75 – 148; sophomore Marshall Martin, 27th, 71-78 – 149; sophomore Kade Miller, tied for 29th, 79-73 – 152; freshman Judd Tilson, tied for 29th, 77-75 – 152; and sophomore Tyler Uhlig, 32nd, 81-77 – 158.
Other team scores: Wayland Baptist, fourth, 292-284 – 576 and Texas-Permian Basin, sixth, 294-314 – 608.
The Highlanders will compete in the High Country Shootout on Sept. 25-26 at the Link at Sierra Blanca in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
