Highlanders top Strength N Motion
The McLennan Highlanders closed out the opening day of the McLennan Classic with an 85-63 victory over Strength N Motion.
Strength N Motion started strong, opening on a 4-0 run and holding the six-point lead at 13-7 with 14:07 to play in the first half. McLennan used a 7-0 run capped off by an and one opportunity by Justin Wilson to take its first lead at 15-13. The Highlanders extended the lead to six before Strength N Motion rallied to take the 27-26 lead with 6:18 to go before the break. McLennan ended the half on a 10-0 run to hold the 36-27 advantage at intermission.
The Highlanders took their first double-digit lead on a Chris Pryor drive in the lane to start the second half, 38-27. Strength N Motion rallied to get within seven with 17:14 remaining in the game but McLennan pulled away and continued to increase its lead as the minutes ticked by.
Justin Wilson led McLennan with 20 points and Rommell Williams added 15.
