Highlanders fall short at Ranger
The McLennan Highlanders fell to the Ranger Ranger 84-67 on the road.
Ranger led from start to finish, opening the game on a 4-0 run. McLennan kept it close throughout the first half. The Rangers took their first double-digit lead at 31-21 with 5:47 to play in the half. Ranger led by nine, 39-30 with 1:32 remaining in the half. Rayquan Brown added a bucket and Diego Gonzalez went 1-2 from the free from line to cut the lead to eight at intermission, 41-33.
Ranger broke the game open early in the second half. The Highlanders scored one free throw in the first six and half minutes allowing Ranger to pull away and build a 27-point lead, 61-34. McLennan rallied late in the half pulling within 15 but that is closed as they could get.
Rayquan Brown led McLennan with 19 points and Chris Pryor added 14. Nehemiah Nuckolls chipped in 13 and Dillon Gooding scored 10.
