Highlanders roll past Sunrise Christian
The McLennan Highlanders opened the Joe White Classic with an 86-59 victory over the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes this evening in Hillsboro.
The Highlanders built a 14-point lead at the end of the first half, 41-27, and outscored the Buffaloes squad 45-32 in the second half to secure the victory.
Akili Vining led the Highlanders with 17 points and Rayquan Brown added 13. Cameron Copeland and Tre Thomas rounded out the Highlanders in double figures with 12 and 10, respectively.
McLennan will wrap up the two-day Classic against Independence at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
