Highlanders defeat Phantom Warriors
The 23rd-ranked McLennan Highlanders traveled to Fort Hood Thursday evening to take on the Phantom Warriors and returned to Waco with an 86-55 victory. The win moves the Highlanders' record to 8-1 on the season.
The game was close in the first half with McLennan holding a one-point lead at intermission, 32-31. The Highlanders poured it on in the second half, outscoring the Phantom Warriors 54-24 to secure the 31-point victory.
Xavier Armstead led the Highlanders with 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Aaron Gregg and Jashawn Talton scored 15 points each, and Javen Hedgeman had 14. Jordan Skipper-Brown recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Highlanders will travel to Lancaster Tuesday for a contest with Cedar Valley at 3 p.m. in their final game before the Thanksgiving break.
