Highlanders top Tigers
The McLennan Highlanders cruised to another easy victory at The Highlands Monday night, defeating the Paul Quinn J.V. Tigers 104-56.
The two teams appeared evenly matched through the first six minutes of play with the Highlanders holding the 13-8 lead with 13:51 remaining in the first half. McLennan used a 16-0 run over the next five minutes to break the game open, taking the 29-8 lead with 8:35 to play in the half. The Highlanders continued to pull away, extending their lead to 35 at the break, 57-22.
McLennan opened the second half on a 9-0 run, increasing the lead to 42, 64-22. The Tigers trimmed the lead to 28 midway through the half but were unable to pull any closer.
Antoine Banks led the Highlanders with 16 points. Jashawn Talton and Javen Hedgeman scored 14 points each. Aaron Gregg and Garrett Shaw added 13 and 10, respectively.
