Highlanders defeat Fort Hood
The McLennan Highlanders kept their perfect season record alive with a 100-67 win over the Fort Hood Phantom Warriors Thursday evening at the Highlands.
The Highlanders opened the game on a 7-0 run and built a double-digit lead with 16:33 to play in the first half, 16-6. Delvon Henderson drained back-to-back 3-pointers from well beyond the arc for the Phantom Warriors to cut the lead to four, 16-12, with 15:32 to go in the first. The Highlanders began to pull away and led by as many as 25. Fort Hood rallied to cut the lead to 13 at the break, 49-36.
McLennan put the game away early in second half, opening on a 22-3 run to stretch the lead to 71-39 with 13:04 remaining in the game and cruised the remainder of the way.
Shannon Bogues led five Highlanders in double-digit figures with 16 points and Zarious Wilson scored 15. Isaiah Gurley and Fred Jackson scored 13 points each. Daniel Pinho Severo and Julius Palmer scored 10 points each.
