Gurley earns conference basketball honor

Highlanders' guard Isaiah Gurley has been named the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Nov. 6-12.
Gurley, a 6'3" sophomore from Brooklyn, New York, scored a season-high 25 points, including seven 3-pointers, in the Highlanders' win at Bossier Parish. He averaged 17.5 points per game in the week's four games and was 25-44 from the field and 14-28 from 3-point range. He finished the week with 10 rebounds, five assists and 4 steals.
This is the second consecutive week a Highlander has earned the conference honor. Sophomore guard Shannon Bogues received the award for the opening week of the season.
