The McLennan Highlanders opened the Joe White Classic Friday with a 93-47 victory over God's Academy at Hill College.
McLennan controlled the game from start to finish. Zarious Wilson led the Highlanders with 22 points while Julius Palmer recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Shannon Bogues scored 11.
On Saturday, the Highlanders moved to 7-0 on the season with a 96-51 win over the Creating Young Minds Yellowjackets.
McLennan led 7-6 with 15:34 remaining in the first half. The Highlanders used a 23-0 run to break the game open and led 45-23 at halftime. The second half was much the same as McLennan cruised to the easy victory.
Shannon Bogues led the Highlanders with 21 points and Isiah Gurley added 17. Fred Jackson and Derrick Farquharson scored 15 and 12, respectively. Zarious Wilson rounded out the Highlanders in double figures with 10.
